9 hardy local tennis players competed in the Annual tournament at Glossop Pyegrove Tennis club in memory of club stalwart Mel Harrop.
In a high quality and entertaining final Nick Holmes from Priory defeated seven time champion Alex Graver from New Mills.
The losing semi finalists were Peter Simon from Glossop Pyegrove and Maurice McCabe from New Mills.

Find your racquet and get down to a club night, every Monday and Friday from 7pm. Balls, lights and laughs provided free.

We are a small, friendly tennis club situated off the A57 (Sheffield Road) just east of the centre of Glossop. Our facilities include:

  • Two new carpet courts with floodlights and two all weather courts
  • Mini tennis court for children and practice wall
  • Disabled access
  • Pavilion with showers, changing facilities and kitchen
  • Coaching for children from four upwards by recognised LTA coach
  • Coaching for adults by LTA coach
  • Social tennis for members two nights a week all year from 7pm
  • Match tennis in S.W. Manchester and East Cheshire Leagues
  • Regular tournaments for all throughout the year
